Eco-Friendly Organic Packaging

Thirty percent of all trash in the US is from product packaging. This is an intolerable level, especially considering how useless much of it often is, and how easy it is to fix. Most companies figure-“it’s just a package, let’s just go with whatever is easiest”. At Magnolia, products are packaged differently. The package is part of the product and a reflection on us as a company. With a little extra thought, our solutions really help alleviate the petro-waste problem we have.

We try to use organic cotton bags wherever possible-this way they can be reused as tote/fruit and veggie bags at the grocery store. Also, when they do someday get thrown out, it’s just cotton-not petrochemicals! It’s also important for our products to remain very clean in transport-so some plastics (at this point) are difficult to do without. When we do have to use plastic, it will usually be a Low Density Polyethylene or a biodegradable plastic. This contributes to significantly less waste, and decomposes much more quickly. We hope to have a fully sustainable alternative soon-as our research continues, and technology improves. As always, our Eco-Friendly Organic packaging is not only certified to the Global Organic Textile Standards-but also to the Magnolia standards.
